First, we find the total cost of the notebooks before the discount.
Next, we subtract the discount from this total.

Step 3 — Total Cost of Items
Let us consider buying different items. A boy named David buys 4 pens. Each pen costs Rs 9. He also buys 2 erasers. Each eraser costs Rs 6. We need to find the total money David spends.
First, we calculate the cost of the pens.
Next, we calculate the cost of the erasers.
Finally, we add the cost of the pens and the erasers.
