Build it in Your Imagination
We will start this section by practising visualisation. For each prompt, feel free to talk to your partner, gesture, draw it in the air — but do not actually draw on paper!
- Picture your name, then read off the letters backwards. Make sure to do this by sight, not by sound — really see your name! Now try with your friend's name.
This exercise helps us practice visualizing objects in our minds.
Step 1 — Visualizing My Name
First, we need to clearly picture our own name.
Let us imagine the name JOHN written in our mind.
We will see each letter, one by one.
We will focus on the shapes of the letters.

Step 2 — Reading Backwards by Sight
Now, we will read the letters from right to left.
We start with the last letter we see.
For JOHN, the last letter is N.
Then we see the letter before it, which is H.
Next, we see the letter O.
Finally, we see the first letter, which is J.
So, JOHN read backwards by sight is NHOJ.

Step 3 — Visualizing a Friend's Name
Let us try this with a friend's name.
For example, we will use the name MARY.
We will picture MARY clearly in our mind.
We see the letters: M, then A, then R, then Y.

Step 4 — Reading Friend's Name Backwards
Now, we read the letters of MARY from right to left.
The last letter we see is Y.
Then we see the letter R.
Next, we see the letter A.
Finally, we see the letter M.
So, MARY read backwards by sight is YRAM.
Answer

Place an object in front of a plane, such as a wall of your room. Shine a torch light on the object in a direction perpendicular to the wall.
